GladBags
Bags from reclaimed fabrics
Handmade in Haddenham
Every one unique

About me
I'm Alison and I sew bags because I just love it. My Granny taught me to sew and I have made the odd bag throughout my life. Then, a few years ago, I made bags for my friends' Christmas presents. They were very warm and receptive - and I thought, "Why not do more of this?" So that was it...
In order not to clutter up this Earth any more than it already is, or to use any more of its dwindling resources, I make GladBags entirely out of reclaimed and recycled fabrics. The only parts that are not ‘renewed’ are the metal clasps.
Fabrics all come from my own and friends’ cupboards and attics, charity shops or are other remnants, offcuts or oddments. Even the threads have been inherited - and I have reels in every colour and every shade you can imagine.
So, no two GladBags are exactly the same. Though a fabric is often used in more than one bag, the combination of fabrics is different every time. Every bag is unique.
GladBags stand for quality finish and hidden detail. Good-looking and practical, hand-made and individual, they are bags for our time.
